I have reliable sources on the ground in Homs, including freelance Syrian journalist Alaa Ebrahim who is in Homs, verifying that reports that it the Al-Khaldia neighbourhood was shelled by the Syrian military are false.

This photo was broadcast of Omar Za’rour’s body by anti-government activists accusing the Syrian army for killing him in Al-Khaldia neighborhood of Homs last night while opposition website pages broadcasted a video of his funeral in Wadi Al-Arab on 19-1-2012
It appears as though the timing of these reports were designed to coincide with the UNSC vote on the Resolution against Syria, in order to put pressure on the Russians and Chinese to support it under the false pretext that civilians need protecting.
Russia and China however have continued to refuse to back any United Nations Security Council Resolution that opens up the possibility of interfering in the internal affairs of Syria, itself a violation of the UN's own principles, and again has vetoed another such Resolution backed by the leading NATO powers.

In lieu of the release of the Arab Leagues Monitor Report, it does seem ironic; the fact of a U.N. resolution on Syria occurring on the tail-end of an "Assad-led massacre in Homs." Especially when one reads the report, contextualizing the situation while highlighting the fact of there being an armed though "unnamed" force attacking government forces and civilian alike within the city of Homs. You're reporting on Libya was spot on and commendable so I expected no less here. Thank you for seeking the truth as it relates to the peoples in the global south!
